FY2027 Cap Filing Window Closed on June 30 โ Cases in Adjudication
The FY2027 H-1B cap filing window closed on June 30, 2026. USCIS is now adjudicating timely-filed petitions โ decisions and RFEs will issue over the coming months, and approved petitions take effect October 1, 2026 (F-1 OPT students may qualify for cap-gap work authorization through September 30). If your registration was selected but you missed the June 30 filing deadline, consult an immigration attorney immediately โ late filings are generally rejected. Not selected? A second-round selection is possible in August if the initial lottery underfilled the cap; otherwise consider O-1, L-1, TN, cap-exempt H-1B, or other options.
